Choose the protection you need

A fitted top protector covers the sleeping surface. An encasement surrounds more of the mattress and takes more effort to remove. Decide which job matters before comparing cooling fabric names. Check whether the stated waterproofing applies to the top only or other panels as well.

Measure the mattress with any topper that will remain. A protector stretched beyond its stated depth can pull at corners and seams. Do not solve a poor fit by making straps tighter than the instructions allow.

Keep cooling claims in proportion

Neither a breathable label nor a cool first touch establishes an overnight temperature reduction. If your current mattress feels right, avoid adding thick padding merely to obtain a cooling promise. Try lighter upper bedding while keeping the protection you need. Use only the wash temperature, detergent and drying method allowed by the selected product’s label.
