Trace the route before ordering

Identify the intended drain and check whether the hose must rise. Measure the path without creating a trip hazard or crossing a door. Check the manual’s hose requirements and whether the necessary parts are supplied.

Do not assume a connector seen in a product photo means there is a built-in pump. Similar-looking models often differ by suffix. If the required route is outside the permitted limits, choose an appropriate system rather than improvising.

Keep the installation inspectable

Secure the discharge end as instructed and check for leaks, kinks and obstructions. A hose that drains correctly once can move during cleaning. In a rental, obtain the relevant permission before altering plumbing or making permanent changes. Drainage convenience is useful only when the complete setup is suitable.
