The care label decides whether an item can be machine-washed. A weighted score cannot overrule a spot-clean-only instruction.
- Identify the exact model and separate cover, core and powered parts.
- Read the label for the part you plan to clean.
- Follow any disconnection or draining instructions for a water system.
- Check the permitted wash, detergent and drying method, plus your washer’s bulky-load instructions.
A foam core can be spot-clean only while its cover is washable. A gel label does not identify a construction or wash method. If instructions are missing, obtain them from the manufacturer before washing; do not guess a gentle cycle and call it safe.
